Attorney Andrew J. Peters, a founding partner in the firm, specializes in DUI and Criminal Defense and is also the senior attorney handling serious injuries, accidents, and wrongful death cases. Mr. Peters has handled thousands of criminal cases with experience on everything from D.U.I.s, to white collar crimes, and complex murder cases. Mr. Peters is a former Mesa County Prosecutor, giving him a unique insight into the tendencies of certain officers, the strengths and weakness of the various prosecutors, and the type of things that the judges want to hear. Andrew J. Peters is a tenacious trial attorney and is not afraid to stand up for you in front of a jury. In addition, Andrew J. Peters has taught Criminology and Criminal Justice students at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction as well as lecturing on the subject throughout Colorado. Andrew J. Peters has also appeared on and been consulted by ABC, NBC and CBS news as a legal expert on both criminal and civil matters. In addition to his criminal law expertise, Andrew J. Peters has worked extensively in the civil arena representing individuals, families and corporations that have been injured, killed or wronged. Mr. Peters participated in his first civil plaintiff’s jury trial while still a student at the prestigious University of San Diego School of Law in 1993, wining a substantial verdict in favor of his client in U.S. District Court. Prior to founding the law firm of Peters & Nolan and working at the District Attorney’s Office, Andrew J. Peters worked as a class action plaintiff’s attorney for a large civil firm in San Diego, California. Although Andrew J. Peters has lived in Fort Collins, Boulder, Telluride, San Diego and Scotland, he was raised in Grand Junction, graduated from Fruita Monument High School, and has called the Western Slope of Colorado home for over 30 years. Andrew J. Peters gives a substantial amount of time and resources back to the community. He has volunteered as an adult mentor, serves as the chairman of the board of directors for the Mesa County Partners organization, and has guest lectured at local high schools and colleges. When Andrew J. Peters is not fighting for his clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, biking, kayaking, and skiing.
